San Telmo, Buenos Aires Neighborhood Guide

With it’s beautiful architecture, picturesque streets, and vibrant nightlife, its no wonder why San Telmo is considered to be one of the most popular neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. The oldest established neighborhood in the city, San Telmo was originally founded as an industrial area filled with warehouses and brick kilns , but these days, it is known for its art galleries, outdoor markets, and antique shops.

How to get there -

If flying into either Jorge Newberry Airport or Ministro Pistarini International Airport, Ezeiza , public transportation can be a bit tricky and will require multiple transfers before arriving to San Telmo. We recommend downloading the BA Cómo llego APP for detailed instructions on how to get to nearly any destination around the city by bus, train, car, or on foot. If you would prefer to take a taxi, it will generally cost between 900 to 1000 pesos (10 To 11 USD) depending on your exact destination.

Since it is a big tourist destination, San Telmo has many hotels to choose from and most are extremely affordable. Airbnb is also a great option, especially if you are looking for a more non-tourist experience to your stay.
